Yakitori: A Simple Japanese Skewer Recipe Using Fukuro Cookware

Yakitori, a popular Japanese dish, is known for its flavorful grilled chicken skewers. Traditionally cooked over a charcoal grill, this recipe shows how you can easily make it at home using a non-stick pan. Whether you’re a professional or a beginner in the kitchen, this is a perfect dish to try with your Fukuro cookware.

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Serves: 2

Step:

1. Prepare the sauce:

In a small pot, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar. Bring it to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

2. Assemble the skewers:

Thread the chicken pieces onto the soaked bamboo skewers, alternating with green onion pieces.

3. Cook in a non-stick pan:

Heat a non-stick pan or induction pan over medium-high heat. Add a little oil and sear the skewers, turning occasionally, for about 5-7 minutes.

4. Baste with sauce:

Once the chicken is nearly cooked through, brush the skewers with the sauce and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until caramelized.

5. Serve:

Enjoy your Yakitori hot off the frying pan, garnished with extra sauce if desired.
